While it doesn’t dominate the headlines, safety is easily the most important feature of any vehicle. It’s not the flashiest aspect of a car, namely because we expect to be safe when we get behind the wheel. But it’s worth mentioning when one of Mitsubishi’s vehicle earns high-profile praise for mastering something we take for granted.

They did just that, as it was recently revealed that the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander was named a 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick when equipped with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights. What’s also impressive is that this is the sixth year in a row that the Outlander has earned this title. It’s something of a source of pride when a car can deliver such peace of mind for over half a decade.

So how does a vehicle earn such a status? The Outlander had to reach certain benchmarks under stress tests on different aspects of the car. The most prominent of these was scoring an advanced or superior rating in a front crash prevention test. Others included a good rating for side, roof strength and head restraint tests as well as a good rating for headlight strength.

The Mitsubishi Outlander is available to test drive today at Max Madsen Aurora Mitsubishi. We encourage you to schedule a test drive today, and if need be our expert finance team can help you get approved for credit.
